United Airlines has agreed to pay a $99,000 fine to settle a racial discrimination lawsuit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The lawsuit alleged that the airline failed to adequately investigate a complaint of physical violence and retaliation against a Black employee at its Denver International Airport hub.

The EEOC's investigation found that a Black employee reported being physically assaulted by a supervisor. Despite the employee's internal complaint, United Airlines allegedly failed to conduct a prompt and thorough investigation into the incident. Furthermore, the employee claimed to have experienced retaliation after reporting the assault.
