GATES Signs MRO Contract for CFM56-7B Engines with Thailand's Nok Airlines

GATES (GA Telesis) is set to commence CFM56-7B engine maintenance for Nok Airlines, beginning with the first two engines in the summer of 2024. GA Telesis Engine Services has secured a major MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) contract with Thailand-based low-cost carrier Nok Airlines for their CFM56-7B engines.

This contract represents a significant step in GA Telesis' expansion into the burgeoning Southeast Asian aviation market. Under the agreement, GATES will carry out multiple performance restoration shop visits for Nok Airlines' CFM56-7B engines, starting with two engines in the summer of 2024.

Nok Airlines, a prominent low-cost carrier from Thailand, known for its reliable service and extensive network, will gain significantly from GATES’ top-tier MRO capabilities, ensuring optimal performance and prolonged service life for their CFM56-7B engines.

The GATES facility, located in Helsinki, Finland, operates under the approvals of FAA, EASA, CAAC, TCCA, DGAC, GACA, ANAC, and ECAA for CFM56-5B, CFM56-7B, and General Electric CF6-80C2 turbine engines. The CFM56-7B engine, a high-bypass turbofan developed by CFM International, is designed specifically for the Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) series, which includes the -600, -700, -800, and -900 models.

GATES continues to grow its global footprint, providing comprehensive MRO solutions to airlines and operators around the world. With this new contract, GATES is strategically positioned to support the expanding aviation market in Southeast Asia.
