Qantas Expresses Confidence in Boeing's Recovery from Crisis

Australian airline Qantas has expressed support for Boeing as it navigates through an unprecedented crisis, which has resulted in significant changes to its leadership and scrutiny from major clients. Boeing is currently in the process of finding a new CEO, following the announcement that Dave Calhoun will step down by the year's end, after a series of crises intensified by a door plug failure on a Boeing aircraft in January.

"Aviation needs a robust Boeing," stated Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson during an airline summit in Dubai. Hudson, who assumed leadership of Qantas last year, mentioned her discussions with Boeing's management and her confidence in their commitment to resolving quality control issues.

"Everything we've heard from Boeing gives me confidence that they will address these issues effectively," she remarked. When questioned about the desirable attributes for Boeing's next CEO, Hudson emphasized the importance of being connected with frontline employees, customers, and key stakeholders.

"For Boeing, these qualities are crucial to truly understand the workings of the organization," she added.
