Airport's Landside

On getting into broad aspect of the Airport's Landside region, its operations facilities includes the passenger &cargo terminals and the access system which includes parking, roads, public transport facilities, and loading and unloading areas.

🛫 Terminal buildings: Processing of passengers and checking valid documents through various stages like check-in, security screening, customs, and immigration. It has the biggest area in landside of airport which gives facilities such as numerous retail shops, restaurants, airline desks, airline lounges, information desks, rest rooms, prayer rooms and conference rooms.

🛫 Cargo Terminals: Cargo terminals have dedicated facilities for customs clearance and security screening of cargo. This includes X-ray machines, explosive trace detection equipment, and other screening technologies to ensure the safety and security of air cargo. Some cargo terminals may have adjacent warehousing facilities for longer-term storage and distribution of cargo, especially for cargo that needs to be held or consolidated before being transported to its destination.
🛫 Maintenance: To maintain the structural integrity and appearance of terminal buildings, including regular cleaning, painting, and repair work. It also includes ensuring proper functioning of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, elevators, escalators, and moving walkways.
🛫 Ground transportation: To manage the flow of vehicles, such as private cars, taxis, buses, and rental car operations. This facility is essential for all passengers because the most of airports are located outside of the city area.
🛫 Parking facilities: To provide short term and long-term parking spaces for passengers, visitors, and employees. This also includes passenger’s drop-off and pick-up areas. Multiple charging stations and fuelling facilities are also available for airport users.
🛫 Airport access roads and curb side areas: To facilitate the movement of vehicles and pedestrians around the terminal area. Various signs and boards guide the passengers to reach their designated departure gate and to safely exit the airport zone while arrival.
